Friday Fill-Ins and an FO

1. There is absolutely NO way you can get me to touch snakes! I hate them, i really really really hate them... allthough i had one around my neck once (it was put there and the snake was also made "undangerous" but still, it was a snake help...
2. My still-not-finished-knitted-summer-top reminds me that summer is almost here!
3. I cannot live without my Family, it means everything in the world to me.
4. Surfing (i dont mean in the internet *lol*) and knitting myself a sweater are two things I'd like to try.
5. When life hands you lemons you.... have hand full of lemons?
6. Playing at Grandmums and Granddads is my favorite childhood memory.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spend some time with D, tomorrow my plans include perhaps finishing my Flower Basket Shawl and Sunday, I want to just to do nothing!

As the blog titel says, an FO is coming!
Yeah, you read right, FO and not UFO....allthough i have those as well:D
I made this out of pure frustration and wanting to keep myself busy and it turned out cute, or what do you think:
The pattern is called "Amelie" and it can be found in the "Natural Knits For Babies And Mums".

I made the size 3 months using Novita Wool in pink for the dress and in purple and white for the tiny flowers.

The pattern is very easy but knitting those teeny tiny flowers one by one is hell...(sorry for the language) but i think the result is all worth it ;-) And knitting that took me only 3 days, can you believe it?:O

I also ordered some more wool today because i really want to make the cabled baby sweater from that same book.

Friday Fill-Ins

1. The tea had an extra secret ingredient; it was Jasmine!
2. I see a palm tree through my window.
3. Right now, I need sleep and eat....if it only were that easy.
4. Home is where I went Thursday night; it was ok.
5. Why does knitting with 16 inch. circulars hurt so much?
6. All I can think of is the last satruday.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to maybe actually get something to eat, tomorrow my plans include staying at home and Sunday, I want to sleep

Keeping myself occupied....

Thats what i´vee been trying to do for the past week... sometimes even actually succeeding in it.

I finished my test knit for Tonya, the Baby Sweater Vest (with some fair isle). The pattern itself is wonderfull and easy but if you look closely (not too closely though) you can see the difference in my knitting before and after the fair isle part. But im definetly going to make some more of these, when the pattern is final and publiced.
I also asked Tonya, if she would like me to translate some patterns of hers and she said yes, so there´s one thing to keep my occupied as well and im really looking forward to it.
Yesterday i also got an invitation to a knitters meeting in Lisboa, its on 31st of May, if i remeber right, it is the international knitting day or
something like that. Im still not sure if im going or not...we´ll see.
This morning i got some mail; two books from Germany i ordered few weeks ago; Knitters Almanac from Elizabeth Zimmermann and Natural Knits for Babies and Mums. Lots of nice patterns in both of them...
On my UFO department...well, not so much progress in there, except that baby vest. Im half way through my Hunca Munca socks, knitting the heel flap of my Salto Socks and other UFOs, well, no progress in there. Somehow i just dont feel like knitting at the moment.
I tried to start knitting a shawl for myself, either with my new Soy Silk yarn or with Silk Alpaca Lace but i cant focus that much so im going to try again later.

Friday Fill-Ins on time and other stuff

So, finally i got to the friday fill-ins on time, on friday, NOT saturday or sunday *lol*

1. Two of my favorite ingredients in a drink are bier and lemon soda! (I know that sound horrible but it tastes yummy:P Havent drank that in years though...)
2. My own ability to do things often amazes me.
3. You can keep doing that forever, the dog is still a dog (what??)
4. Orange juice, some banana, strawberry and mango, mix it all together and voila! You have a tasty smoothie!. (somehow i just right away thought about food when i saw this question...)
5. If I had a yard with a garden, I would love to grow lots of flowers and herbs
6. Milk is best au naturel.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to D getting home on time, tomorrow my plans include to do some shopping for my give-me-yours-swap and Sunday, I want to relax and hopefully everyone is healthy!

So, now the other stuff....

I havent done that much knitting lately (read: in few days*lol*) because of the tummy bug thats going around here, but i did finish one pair of baby booties yesterday:

Instead of knitting them in garter stitch only, i knit the sole in garter stitch and the rest of the bootie in plain stockinette stitch and i think they came out cute. The flowers are not felted by me, i bought them.

Pattern: Magic Slippers by SockPixie

Yarn: Novita Wool (less than 50g)

Needles: size 3,5mm DPN and size 3,5mm (150cm) ADDi circular (for magic looping)

Other stuff: Felted flower, little bit of yarn to sew the flowers on and of course a needle for that

I also frogged my lovely North Roë (i havent knitted it for a long time and somehow, i just didnt feel up knitting it anymore, will use that lovely yarn for something else) and my sock attempt nr.2 (the sock was just too small)

That all being said, im going to wish lovely weekend to everyone!

Aurinkoinen päivä / Sunny day

So, we decided to go to the beach today because the weather was so wonderful (sunny and about 28 degrees :p). This was a decision that hundrets of other people had also made, the beach was full of people:D Luckily there are lots of beaches here, so there´s always somewhere a tiny spot free. After spending few hours in the beach, the result was that i, who never ever gets sunburned, turned red as a lobster:D Or as D says, a tomato *lol*. But all in all, the day was good:)
